This policy explains what we collect when you use our website, contact us or become a client, and what we do with it.

3. How we use your information
Data protection law requires a valid reason, a "lawful basis", for each way we use your information:
| What we use it for | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry and arranging a consultation or site visit | Steps you've asked us to take before a contract |
| Designing your project and preparing your quote | Steps you've asked us to take before a contract |
| Delivering your project, managing the site and handling guarantees and aftercare | Performing our contract with you |
| Making planning, Building Regulations, party wall or HMO licensing submissions you've asked us to handle | Performing our contract with you |
| Meeting health and safety (CDM) duties and keeping financial and tax records | Legal obligation |
| Sending you marketing messages by text or email | Your consent |
| Measuring how our website and adverts perform | Your consent (via cookie settings) |
| Improving our services and customer care, and protecting our business | Our legitimate interests |
4. Marketing messages
We'll only send you marketing, such as news, offers or updates about our services, by text message or email if you've agreed to it, for example by ticking the consent box on our enquiry form.
You can opt out at any time: reply STOP to any text message, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us. Opting out of marketing won't affect messages we need to send about an enquiry, quote or project you have with us.
6. Transfers outside the UK
Some of our service providers, for example our CRM platform, may store or process information outside the UK. Where that happens we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or a UK adequacy decision for the country concerned.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it:
- Enquiries that don't go ahead: up to 2 years after our last contact, in case you come back to us.
- Clients: for at least 6 years after our contract ends, for legal, tax and accounting reasons, and longer where we need project records for guarantees, health and safety files or potential claims.
- Marketing preferences: until you opt out, after which we keep a record that you've opted out so we don't contact you again.
After that, we securely delete or anonymise it.
8. Keeping it secure
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including access controls, secure systems and trusted providers, and only give access to people who need it to do their job.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct anything that's wrong or incomplete;
- Delete your information, in some circumstances;
- Restrict or object to how we use it, in some circumstances;
